Digital video game sales tracker SuperData have released their report for September, and it contains some very good news for Sony and Activision. Marvel’s Spider-Man is Sony’s biggest digital launch to date, selling 2.17 million copies in September, which puts it just ahead of God of War’s launch sales. That said, Spider-Man wasn’t September’s top game in terms of earnings – that honor goes to Destiny 2, which released its big Forsaken expansion in early September. Over 60 percent of Destiny 2 players purchased the expansion, shooting the game to the top of the charts.

Elsewhere on the console charts, Fortnite and this year’s latest sports games continue to bring in the big bucks. Shadow of the Tomb Raider also makes its debut in the #8 spot. The PC charts are dominated by the usual suspects including League of Legends, Fortnite, and PUBG. Interestingly, Destiny 2 doesn’t even make the PC list, perhaps saying something about the console/PC split for the game. Meanwhile, the mobile charts are, of course, topped by Chinese hits like Honor of Kings and standbys like Pokemon Go and Candy Crush Saga.
