Bethesda has been a champion of the Nintendo Switch during the system’s early life, porting games like Skyrim, Doom and Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus to Nintendo’s hybrid console and portable. These are the sorts of M-rated action and role-playing games that Nintendo isn’t supplying for its own system, giving Bethesda a competitive advantage on a system that might be scaring off other third-party publishers.
“I enjoy us being seen as the third-party leader in terms of supporting Switch,” Bethesda’s Pete Hines said during PAX Australia, as reported by GameSpot. “People go, ‘Hey, you’ve got a lot more stuff [on Switch] than this publisher or that publisher.’ That’s what I want Bethesda to be known as. We’re guys who will take some risks.”
