Capcom and 20th Century Fox are making a Mega Man movie. The live-action film, tentatively titled Mega Man, was officially announced by Capcom today, more than three years after the project was initially rumored.

Mega Man will be written and directed by Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman, the duo behind the films Catfish and Nerve. Chernin Entertainment, the producers of the Planet of the Apes series, is co-producing with actor Masi Oka (Heroes, Hawaii Five-O). Capcom said it “aims to appeal to a diverse audience, including not only game players but action movie fans as well, with an adaptation that maintains the world of the Mega Man games, while incorporating the grand production and entertainment value that Hollywood movies are known for.”
