The PS4-exclusive game Spider-Man doesn't just rehash the hero's origin story. Instead, it finds an experienced Peter Parker and his superhero alter ego defending New York City from a super villain threat. The new title from Insomniac Games (the maker of Sunset Overdrive and Ratchet & Clank) has a release date of September 7, and it has been receiving stellar reviews (including ours).

"The feeling of embodying Spidey and using his abilities is astonishing, and the time spent on exploring its major characters help make its story feel heartfelt, despite superhero bombast," Edmond Tran wrote in GameSpot's Spider-Man review.
