Ubisoft unveiled the next entry in its long-running stealth-action franchise with Assassin's Creed Odyssey, which takes players back to Ancient Greece where Spartans and Athenians are at war. One of the more notable changes this time around: branching dialogue choices. Odyssey is leaning heavily into RPG elements by giving players an active role in conversations that can change the course of the campaign.

Ubisoft demonstrated an example of the game's branching dialogue system in a gameplay demo showcased during its E3 2018 press conference. This time, you can choose to play as either a male or female character. During the course of the game, you'll be presented with dialogue options when speaking with characters, and your choices will alter the story, from making or rejecting alliances to developing romances.
