Borderlands 3 Finally Confirmed at PAX East With a Mayhem-Packed 4K Trailer

After years of persistent rumors, and much teasing from the publisher itself, Gearbox Software officially announced Borderlands 3 at PAX East today. The Gearbox panel was a bit of a mess, featuring a lot of technical difficulties and a bit too much magic (yes, magic) from Randy Pitchford, but Borderlands 3’s debut trailer delivered pretty much exactly what the hardcore fans have been waiting for.
While Gearbox didn’t share a lot of specific info about Borderlands 3, they did confirm the game won’t be embracing the battle royale trend. No, based on the trailer, Borderlands 3 appears to be a traditional four-player co-op experience, featuring 4K cell-shaded graphics, returning characters like Tiny Tina, Sir Hammerlock, and Claptrap, and over a billion procedurally-generated guns to collect.
