HP Inc presented pretty unexciting fourth quarter and end-of-year financial results – and stayed strictly silent about the elephant in the room: the threatened hostile takeover by Xerox.

The PC and printer slinger pretty much spent the past 12 months in a standstill, revenue growth-wise, amid ongoing Intel desktop microprocessor shortage that looks to carry into next year. At least sales weren't falling off a cliff and the biz seems stable. Although commercial PC shipments were up, consumer units were down. Perhaps Xerox needs to reconsider its offer.
