AMD RDNA 2 DirectX Raytracing Demo Released, and It’s Very, Very Shiny

Earlier this month AMD finally announced that their upcoming GPUs built using the new RDNA 2 gaming architecture will feature hardware-accelerated ray tracing. According to AMD multiple partners, including Microsoft, are working on APIs to push ray tracing on RDNA 2 silicon – in fact, Microsoft just unveiled DirectX 12 Ultimate, which introduces new features such as DirectX Raytracing, variable rate shading, mesh shaders, and sampler feedback (get a lot more detail on that here).

Now that Microsoft has unveiled their new API, we now have an AMD RDNA 2 DirectX Raytracing demo you can check out, and it’s super-duper shiny. Check it out below.
