Hawking's final paper, co-authored with Thomas Hertog, a professor of theoretical physics at Belgium's KU Leuven University, is titled "A Smooth Exit from Eternal Inflation?" and can be read online via Cornell University's arXiv.org site.

Don't expect a mainstream read like Hawking's best-selling "A Brief History of Time." The 16-page (including 3 pages of footnotes) paper isn't exactly Science 101.
