Google’s Digital Wellbeing initiative was launched at Google I/O this year. It aims to help users curb their smartphone addiction with the help of visual cues such as turning the displayed grey and silencing all notifications after a pre-determined time. The move was a bit surprising, considering that Google has every incentive to keep users stuck their phone.

The initiative in beta until now and was limited only to the Pixels. Today, Digital Wellbeing is now out of beta and provides a dashboard of device usage. Users can see how often they use certain apps with Screen time, while the number of notifications they receive and how often a phone is unlocked throughout the day are also measured. App timers allow you to restrict application usage to a specified amount of time each day. The app is now available for all Google Pixel phones and Android One devices. Digital Wellbeing 1.0 is rolling out now via the Play Store and is available to download without joining the public beta program. The full release notes are as follows
