Netflix already has a few games on its platform, but more are on the way. The streaming service is teaming up with developer Telltale Games to bring Minecraft: Story Mode, an adventure game based on Minecraft that plays nothing like Minecraft, to the platform. As first reported by TechRadar, the entire five episode run of Telltale’s Minecraft game will come to the service and work with any device that streams Netflix and has a remote that can pick left or right.
Netflix games take the form of interactive stories such as Puss in Book: Trapped in an Epic Tale and Buddy Thunderstruck: The Maybe Pile. The setup is simple—the viewer watches the show for a bit then gets to choose the path for the character. Early on in Puss in Book, the viewer gets to decide between making the cartoon cat fight a god or fight a tree. It’s like Dragon’s Lair or many of the adventure games developed by Telltale.
