Last year, both the flagships series released by Samsung, the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy Note 9, failed to perform as expected due to various factors such as lack of groundbreaking features and slowing smartphone market. Samsung flagships usually receive a significant update every two years, and the Galaxy S10 series is indeed not just a marginal upgrade over its predecessor. The series has received a great response from the market and per a new report, this momentum is expected to continue until June.
According to Samsung, the pre-orders for the Galaxy S10 in the UK and the U.S. were more than that of any other Galaxy S series phone, although no figures were revealed. Similarly, the phone is reportedly doing well in China, despite the country’s dismal macroeconomic conditions. Supply chain insiders are predicting that Samsung will sell 20 million units of the Galaxy S10 series during the first half of the year. Galaxy S10 is expected to hit the 10 million mark by the end of this month and it is being speculated that the remaining 10 million units will be shipped out in the next three months. Looking at this trend alone, it can be assumed that the sales momentum will slow down eventually.
