California workers filed fewer unemployment claims for the second week in a row but the number of jobless filings remains far worse than the normal levels before COVID-linked shutdowns began.
Workers filed 57,000 jobless claims during the week that ended June 26, which was down 6,900 from the 63,900 filings in the week ending on June 19, the U.S. Labor Department reported Thursday.
