Microsoft is expected to take the wraps off a new and more affordable Surface model later this year. Like Apple's tablet, the device will have rounded corners and a 10-inch screen. Reports in May said Microsoft is aiming to release new Surface tablets for $400 in the second half of 2018 and is aimed at teachers, students, and consumers who would otherwise buy an iPad.

It's no longer a secret that Microsoft will try to keep the price down and to do so, the company would stay away from Intel Core i5 and i7 processor.
